Our brand new Online GCSE History 9-1 course aims to develop your understanding of human activity in the past based on historical evidence. You will learn about the nature of cause and consequence, continuity and change, and similarity and difference. Through studying this course you will develop an understanding of the present and how it is influenced by past events.
Our Online GCSE History 9-1 Course aims to:

Paper 1: Thematic Study and Historic Environment (Paper code: 1HI0/11)

Historic Environment - Students answer a question that assesses knowledge plus a two-part question based on two provided sources.
Thematic Study - Students answer three questions that assess their knowledge and understanding. The first two questions are compulsory. For the third question, students answer one from a choice of two.
Paper 2: Period Study and British Depth Study (Paper codes: 1HI0/27)

Superpower relations and the Cold War 1941-91.
Period Study - Students answer three questions that assess their knowledge and understanding. The first two questions are compulsory. For the third question, students select two out of three parts.
British Depth Study - Students answer a single three-part question that assesses their knowledge and understanding. The first two parts are compulsory. For the third part, students select one from a choice of two.
Paper 3: Modern Depth Study (Paper code: 1HI0/30)
Russia and the Soviet Union 1917-41.
Modern Depth Study - Students answer a question based on a provided source and a question that assesses their knowledge and understanding.
Modern Depth Study - Students answer a single four-part question, based on two provided sources and two provided interpretations.

New 9-1 Assessment:
As part of your Online GCSE History 9-1 Course you will have the benefit of both Formative and Summative Assessment.
Formative Assessment does not count towards your final mark but is used to gauge your progress and performance. Use these assessments to practice your skills and to build confidence in the subject. You can take combinations of these assessments as many times as you like to continuously improve your grades. Formative Assessments include: Activities, Multiple Choice Assessment, Short Answer and Tutor Marked Mock Exams.
Summative Assessments do count towards your final grade. These are final exams which are held at one of thousand of exam centres across the country. See the Examination section below for more details.
